Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report
Inshore & Offshore Fishing Report Naples, Marco, Ten Thousand Islands, Everglades.
So far November has been pretty good Fishing. We have had some tough wind to deal with, but for the most part everything is pretty good. Still catching lots of Redfish on both Fly, Artificial and Live bait. The Snook are still about especially at night in the Marco River and around the lights in Naples. Fished the lights last night and caught about 15 to 20 small Snook between 18 and 24 inches and one Snook 28 inches. We also jumped two Tarpon, small one's about 10 pounds. The Day fishing for Snook has been a little more difficult, catching a few, but they have been a little persnickity. They are doing a lot of short striking the Fly, and pushing the live bait around. Thank God for the Redfish, they seem to be picking up the slack for the Snook. There is also a huge number of mangrove Snapper Around. Day before Yesterday on live bait we limited out in about an hour with nice fish between 12 and 14 inches. We also caught 9 baby Goliath's along with Reds and Snook among other things. The Flats around Naples and Marco have lots of fish in them the key is getting their on the first of the rising tide and having a boat that can pole in less than 10 inches of water. Oh yea caught my first Permit of the winter on a flat in Johnson bay yesterday. It took a shrimp.
Offshore Fishing is going strong too.
When the wind lets up and you can get ten miles offshore than there is plenty to catch. The wrecks are holding good concentrations of Kingfish and Cobia. The False Albacore seem to be everywhere along with the Spanish Mackeral. Find a shrimper early and barter some bycatch and start chumming pretty soon you won't be able to keep a line in the water. There are also large numbers of Black Tip Sharks which are fun to catch on the Fly or Plug.
Everglades Bass Fishing
Bass in the Everglades are still heating up. The canals along I75 seem to be the best fishing.
