Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Naples to The Everglades Report Inshore, Offshore, And Freshwater.

Inshore Fishing still going strong but bad weather may dampen your succes the next couple of days.

Fishing This Week has been very good except it has been a touch on the Windy Side. All things considered this is not bad for the end of December. With the increased water temps the Tarpon have come out to play again, we jumped quite a few this week and even managed to land a couple. Snook have been on the feed in the passes and near the passes. Redfish seem to be everywhere, especially the little guys. I polled a flat a couple days ago on the rising tide in Johnson Bay and I must of seen two hundred none of which were bigger that 20 inches. A harbinger for good things to come I hope. Weather conditions for this next week look like they are going to turn to the bad. I hope not but, it would be nice to have a little cool weather for Christmas.

Offshore Fishing has been very good if you can get to the Fish

Kingfish, Mackeral, False Albacore, Trippletail, Bluefish, and Snapper Fishing has been super strong in the nearshore offshore waters this week. large schools of bait just to the North of Naples have been holding the fish within 5 miles of shore. trolling, for these species has been very good but if you get in on the blitz action a fly or jig will do the damage.

Bottom fishing has been good too. Even good reports of Grouper and Snapper have been coming in. This is happening from ten to twenty miles offshore. If you do not want to go that far the Snapper fishing in all the passes has been excellent also.

Everglades Bass Fishing

Bass fishing the Everglades canals has been just as strong as the inshore fishing for Snook and Reds. We have been catching lots of Bass in pretty much all the Canals from 41 to I75. It seems the Canals on I75 to be running a little stronger than the 41 Canals but both are good. The one thing about the 41 Canals is that you always have a chance for some Snook and Tarpon along with Bass.

Well I hope Everyone has a happy Holiday and we will see you next year. Hopefully after the first of the year we will be able to include pictures with the reports. Thanks Merry Christmas and happy New Year. Roan z.
