Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Naples and Marco Island Fishing Report Inshore-Offshore and Everglades Bass Fishing.

Inshore Report:

The Inshore fishing is still going Strong with another wave of moderate temps. The water is back up to the low 70's which is moving things ahead for out favorite species. It doesn't seem as we are going to have a winter this year so you want to look to summer patterns to find the fish. The passes still have Snook including Tarpon and Redfish. The beaches are still active with fish on the incoming tide. THe fish are everywhere scattered from the outside to the far back country. The problem is they are scattered which means lots of moving and casting. Typically you would be sitting in a whole and keep working it not this year the fish are much more scattered out so you have to move and hunt.

Bait fishing with live shrimp is producing some nice redfish and even nicer mangrove snapper. We are limiting out on big mangoes about every trip. Small Snook and other species are taking the live Shrimp also. Big Snook still seem to be in the Passes and a large Shrimp drifted close to the bottom is picking them off.

Offshore Action is excellent!

The offshore boats seem to be catching a little bit of everything. Not everyday but they seem to never know what they are going to run into this year. The Kings are still out their and so are the Spanish mac's. Plenty of False Albacore along with some nice Cobia. The Grouper fishing even seems to be picking up a little this year but mostly on full day trips. If weather permitting you should take advantage of the consistent offshore Fly Fishing opportunities this year.

Everglades Bass Fishing going strong too.

With Spring time conditions throughout the Winter the Bass Fishing seems to be supercharged throughout the Glades. Every one is reporting good catches on both sides of the Everglades. This year seems to show more catches of larger bass than in years past. Fish are bedding earlier this year which might have something to do with it. Mild temps are keeping them charged up and wanting to feed on topwater plugs and flies. Keep up the good fishing and its going to be a banner year. Good Fishing and Casting Roan z.
