Naples & Marco Island, FL

Capt. Roan zumFelde
February 12, 2007
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Weather the last couple of weeks has been Chilly, so goes the fishing.

Fishing has been a little tough the last two weeks. Weather has been very chilly in the mornings which is putting the fish off the feed some. We are catching some fish it just isn't fast and furious. Going into this week, looking at more unsettled weather conditions, which looks like we are going to be scrambling for fish thru the weekend. The fish are there you just have to slow down and fish harder for the bites. Making sure to capitalize on every opportunity will give you the best luck. I have always said my least favorite month to fish is February in Southwest Florida, unfortunately it is one of the busiest. I guess it is beter then being in the north were the temps are struggling to make ten degrees. Had a good day on Grouper and Snapper Saturday. In four hours we limited out on Red Grouper and Snapper 35 miles offshore on spotty bottom. Good Fishing Roan z.
