Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

The past couple weeks have seen some fantastic fishing and some not so fantastic fishing.

The Back Country has seen some great days of Red and Snook fishing and some real crumby days. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it either. On the Good days we have been seeing upwards of 100 or so redfish and catching quite a few on Fly, Plug, and Bait. This along with some Snook thrown in for good measure is making for some great days. Now about the bad days. The same places or close by places that we are seeing all these fish one day, you can not seem to find them the next. I know they are there they just aren't showing themselves or taking the offering we are giving them. I fished a Creek yesterday, were I had had great fishing a couple of days ago. I could see the Snook laying on the bottom, we threw the flies over them tried every retrieve imaginable but they wouldn't even move. It was very frustrating for both the angler and myself. The only saving grace was they would occasionaly come up for a Tsunami Popper fished very slow. This of course didn't help the fly angler out but his father caught a few nice fish. It must have something to do with the changing weather and the High Pressure systems this time of the year. Well, enough belly aching, have to get out and fish tonight. Oh we did catch some nice Snook and Jumped a Tarpon under the lights last night. Thanks Rz.
