Naples & Marco Island, FL

Capt. Roan zumFelde

Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

This Weeks fishing has seen some good and bad days. Snook and Redfish have been very good but the Tarpon are here today gone tommorrow.

Slow down on charters has started, looking foward to a couple of weeks of rest. Fished just a couple of days last week with moderate to fair success. Snook fishing under the lights at night has been fabuloso especially in the Marco and Caxsambas areas. Naples has been ok, but the fish are a little spooky.

Redfishing this last week has been suprisingly good. Most of the redfish have been to the backs of the intercoastal bays and have been taking bait, jigs, and flies. Strangley the outgoing tides seem to be better. Expect to see some reds showing up on the beaches and the passes, spawning just around the corner.

Still no rain means Tarpon fishing still week. There are a few fish on the beaches to our North, but definetly hit or miss fishing. Tropical wave approaching maybe this will turn them on. Caught a couple of small ones under the lights and a couple in the back country but definetly not easy. Good Luck and Good Casting Roan z.
