Snapper Fishing Offshore Naples

Capt. Michael Avinon
February 17, 2010
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

The fishing offshore has continued to be really strong with the mangrove snappers biting everything from live shrimp to cut thread herring. We have been using 12 and 20pd outfits with circle hooks and everyone has been catching plenty of fish no matter if its your first time fishing or you have been doing it for 20 years. The gag groupers seem to know season is closed but it is a lot of fun catching a 12pd grouper on spin tackle. The amberjacks have continued to bite hard also this year with the cooler weather.

Naples Fishing Forecast:

The fishing should just get better from here on out.The kings just need a week or two of normal weather to make it closer to naples. The long term forcast is predicting the jet stream to stay to our north for a while, that should give us a more normal pattern the next couple of weeks. No more snow storms in northern florida.

More Fishing Reports:

I have been operating out of Naples for over twenty years and have the spots to prove it.With a range of over 400 miles and the speed to get there quickly the options are endless. We are consistently one of the top producing boats in sw florida, stop by the city dock and see for yourself.
