Snook, and Redfish

Capt. Joey Benko
May 21, 2011
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

With last weeks weather fishing the beaches was just not an option with the west wind blowing and turning the smooth gulf waters upside down. Fishing in passes and targeting mangroves on the incoming tide proved to be very successful with lots of snook and some beautiful keeper reds. As of Thursday the winds died an the early east wind allowed for some great snook fishing and some site fishing for tarpon along the beaches.

Naples Fishing Forecast:

The upcoming week should prove to be great with the winds blowing out of the east and the bait being plentiful ,targeting snook along the beaches and heavy chumming the mangroves on an incoming tide should prove to be hotspots. The weather should also help in site fishing those big tarpon along the beaches with plenty of sun in the morning and early afternoons, but always keep a watch out for those late afternoon thunderstorms.

Target Species:

Snook,Tarpon, Redfish
