Long Time Tarpon Springs fishing Guide and Tarpon Springs Fishing Charter guide service serving the West Central Florida Gulf Coast, Captain John Fischbach of Absolute Florida Flats Fishing reports that Deep Sea and near shore reef fishing has been producing constant action and lots of family fun and delicious fish to take home (if you choose to) with a lot more meat to bring home versus Flats Fishing in and around Tarpon Springs. The water temperature inshore has hit the 90* mark which causes the Inshore fishing to slow down due to their lethargic mood water temperatures and floating dead grass from the summer temperatures makes

keeping a live bait in place long enough for the fish to strike difficult due to the bait getting fouled by debris and low oxygen content in the water on the shallow water fishing flats and barrier islands. Fishing our inshore reefs, nearshore reefs and offshore reefs for Shark, black tip and spinner shark are common on the near shore reefs while nurse shark are a little deeper. Cobia fishing and king fishing with flat lined live baits while anchored on a reef ledge bottom fishing for Grouper and snapper which make excellent table fare is the way to go is the best bet time of year catching over 50 fish in a 1/2 to 3/4 day charter, also have been adding extra action to the entire offshore fishing experience!! Bonita, Blackfin Tuna, barracuda and spanish mackerel just to name a few are also on the menu, great family and adult fun!
