Butler Chain and Orlando bass fishing

Capt. Tim Fey
April 19, 2010
Orlando - Freshwater Fishing Report

Butler Chain Bass Fishing- Orlando Bass Fishing

With a couple run out on Butler Chain, we have found that the bass had moved from the outside edges and drop off to right up in the grasses. Most of our time has been spent tossing senko type baits very shallow and across the grass beds and slowly swimming them back across the grasses. This has been a very lethal way to target some of the bigger bass.

Strike King Red Eye Shad and the Azuma Shaker Z have also been very good baits to us as of late on Butler Chain. These two lures have become the perfect lure to search out bass and keep the action steady during the day. We have still seen some bass around and even on beds out here, this has been a very strange bedding season with the cold fronts that hammered us early in the season. Water temps are still a little below normal for this time of year but have been slowly creeping back to normal.

Top water bite has been doing good early in the morning before tapering off. Buzz baits have been good baits to start out with, then when the top water bite slows, switching to the red eye shad or shaker z to keep things going has been the way to go.
