Orlando To Daytona Beach FL Bass Fishing Guide Report

Capt. Ed Bussard
May 25, 2010
Orlando - Freshwater Fishing Report

Sometimes here on the St Johns River we have days when the shad are so
thick it makes it hard to get a bass to eat anything else you offer them
and that is what happened yesterday on a fullday trip with Nick O of
Oveido FL.We headed north on the St Johns River and found pods of shad
everywhere, but during the course of the day we only boated 9 fish total
and they were on the small side.

Today I fished with the Mike Z of NE and his two great sons.We headed way south
on the St Johns River and found less shad then yesterday but way more fish
and much better size. Each of the kids caught the biggest fish of the life's
weighing 5.8 pounds each.A total of 15 fish were caught and I have to say the
boy's put it on Dad.The two boy's combined for 13 fish and Dad fell way behind
with on two fish. All fish were caught on a C Rigged Bitters Bait and Tackle
7.5 Junebug Bluetail Worm except two that were caught on a White Bitters
Naked Swimmer these two fish were caught casting the Naked Swimmer into
the shad pods that were being busted on by schooling fish. All and all it was
a good 6 hour trip with a great family.

The fishing is getting better each day and I see no reason why we will not have a
great June just like last year with lots of Trophy Bass weighing over 8 pounds
and all being caught on artificial baits. The topwater action should really get going
during the next week and last through summer.

Call for our Freshwater and Saltwater two day combo special going on now
through July 1st 2010
