Orlando - Freshwater Fishing Report

Harris Chain
Today we were out scouting around Harris Chain again.
Spent most of the day scouting Big Lake Harris, Dora Canal and driving around Lake Eustis.
Waters looked to be very dirty, but could easily see a white spinner bait up to 3 and a half feet down. With water temps ranging from 72 to 76 depending on where we were on the chain, we had opted to use White Spinner Baits, white/silver flukes and Black Snakes.
With the spinner baits we worked the inside edges of the grass beds picking up a few good keepers thru the day,Flukes pegged with a 1/16 ouce bullet flipped into small pockets in the grass beds had picked up a few more up to 18 inches. The day ended with working Black Snakes up into the heavy lily pad cover, working them slowly on some STOUT 60 pound test braided line with 25 pound test Florocarbon leader, we had a few breakoffs in the lily pads, but thats what you expect when you fish the cover we were looking at, these pads are thick and tight with small open pockets but hold some good bass in them year round.
Lake Harris looked like a sheet of glass today which was rather nice since it can get pretty rough out there even with a little wind. There are going to be a few tournaments out on Harris from what i hear, so lets be careful out there.
Picture of one of the days catches will be posted on Cyber Angler Photo Gallery.
Till my next report, Tight lines and great fishing
