Harris Chain
Today we had a day of scouting on the Harris Chain. Westarted the day out launching out of Hickory Point at 6am and headed thru Harris all the way down to Lake Beauclair.
Water temp started out at around 74 and by days end some areas had warmed to 78 degress.
We had started flipping tight to cover, grass beds and Reeds picking up a few here and there, venturing out to a good patch of reeds in deeper waters we worked white spinner baits when we got the suprise of a lifetime, we picked up 2 STRIPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We ran into Game and Fish on the water, and after a long conversation about the Chain and the restoration of the vegitation, they told us they have been stocking Stripers. The 2 that we got, were not that big, ranging from 12 to 16 inches but a few anglers we had talked to on the waters had reported several in the 4 to 5 pound range. We WILL be adding Harris Chain to our list of lakes here in the next month or 2, where else in Central Florida can you go and catch Large Mouth Bass AND Stripers on the SAME lake!!!
Till my next report, tight lines and great fishing
