Orlando - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake Istokpoga
Water Temperature: 81
Water Clarity: 1 foot
The last 4 days were spent on beautiful Lake Istokpoga. Thursday and Friday had a mixed bag of tricks with the weather, overcast, slight breeze and off and on showers which really had the topwater action HOT. Snakes had ruled the day both days, with a few being cuaght on horny toads. Spinnerbaits and shad sticks later in the day worked great also. Flipping Buggy Whips grass patches and lily pads was a big ticket, as wel as fishing SHALLOW waters, most of the biggest bass came in less than 2 feet of water.
Saturday and Sunday mother natural did an about face on us and gave us perfect beach weather, scattered clouds and HOT! very little breeze, but working toads over heavy cover still produced some great bass, throwing as far back into slop as you could, bass would explode on the toads when worked into an oen patch. Big key was if there was ANY sudden change in the weather, Sunday was HOT! but when we did get some cloud cover and a slight breeze the bass turned on for us, we had several lost big bass DEEP in the pads, but as they say, live in the pads, die in the pads.
This was a great 4 day run in the Poga and we look forward to several more trips there soon, awesome fishery and well maintained.
Till my next report, tight lines and great fishing
