Orlando - Freshwater Fishing Report

Johns Lake
Today we had planned a run to Johns Lake to do some scouting. This is a very clean and clear water lake. We started out with various shallow to deep running crankbaits, picking up 2 stragglers in the main lake area. From there we moved over to the far east side of the lake, thru the switchback and fished the grass beds and lily pads. Working topwater thru the pads, mostly snakes, we spotted some pads lifting as we worked the snake very slowly across the pads. As the snake got to the very edge, we bounced the head of the snake to slap the surface a little and that was all it took, as this little beauty blew thru the pads and INHALED her!!
