Orlando - Freshwater Fishing Report

Private Lakes/ Rainbow River
We spent the last few days out on a private lake fishing some of the finest gin clear waters you will probably ever see anywhere. Pre and Post cold front the bass were still feeding and taking the baits we offered them. Working everything from Snakes to trick worms with a small bullet weight and working the baits slow was the key to catching bass the last 3 days. Our Clients Roger and Jimmy had what they said was an awesome 3 days on what should have been a tough bite, cold front and gin clear water, but with long casts and working your baits slow is key under those conditions as the guys boated an average of 20 fish a day to 7 pounds.
From there we headed to Dunnellon to fish 2 more days hooking up with Doug Hannon and Mark from Natural Motion Lures for some great Rainbow River bass fishing using nothing but Snakes. Carolina rigged Snakes tossed up current and bringing them down river slowly with the current along the grass edges was the way to catch some very good bass. Being able to watch the bass dart out of the grass and nail the snakes as they passed by in the clear water there made for some exciting strikes and action.
We are now offering shiner trips for up to 3 people, with no extra charge for the third person, and with the knowledge of several central Florida lakes to fish, your bass fishing experience will be one to remember. We have limited days available left for December and January is booking up very fast, so make that call and reserve your day.
Till my next report, tight lines and great fishing.
Lake Toho
Reports coming from my partner show that Lake Toho bass fishing has been doing very good even with the cold front that has passed thru.
With a mixed bag of trips, some using shiners and some using artificial lures the bass have been active and been very healthy looking. Beds have been popping up in scattered areas of the lake with several bass to 8 pounds with some good sized bellies on them.
When using artificials the ticket has been working them very slowly. Trick worms, Tiki sticks and shad sticks have been great producers. Best live bait action has come on medium sized wild shiners with 2 bass over 10 pounds this week on the edge of grass beds. As always, all bass were released for YOU, the next angler to catch.
