Orlando - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake Okeechobee
Lake Okeechobee
We spent the last 2 days out on Lake Okeechobee and what a changed lake it is, some of our favorite areas were totally gone. We had spent the day Sunday working Moonshine Bay with a wide variety of lures, rattle traps, wiggy , senkos , spinnerbaits , ribbontail worms and craws. Only one buck caught on a senko , rest of the bass were hooked up on crankbaits and in wide open waters. Water was fairly clear in areas that we worked and we did see a lot of very muddy waters.
North end of the lake seemed to be the place to catch them as we had talked with a few other anglers that had ventured south with little to no luck to speak of. Roland Martins is looking much better now but sure did miss all the boat slips that used to be there. In all fishing was pretty good even with limited breeze at times and bluebird skys, most bass were very scattered out but when they hit it was a solid hookup, big key was fishing SLOW and being patient.
Till my next report, tight lines and great fishing!!!!
