Orlando - Freshwater Fishing Report

Butler Chain
The first part of this week had seen some great bass fishing on the Butler Chain of Lakes.
Lake Tibet as usual produced some great numbers working grass beds and flooded timber using a new bait from a new company, Gitem Baits. These baits are excellent quality and really hold up great. The Gitem KO was a top producer for us this week as well as the Gitem Toad. Lake Sheen produced smaller numbers of bass, but did kick out a few over 5 pounds. From Lake Sheen we moved over to Little Fish Lake at the end of the chain. Now this lake was the sleeper lake with a nice bass getting hooked up in the pads, we slipped in slowly to get her unhooked from the stalks, and as I started to reach in after her, all 7 ½ pounds of her, there sat her twin sister, unphased as to what we were doing.
Butler chain waters have been running in the mid 60’s and has made for some great jiggin spoon action on Lakes Tibet and Lake Down in the deeper holes, look for sudden drops to 20- 30 feet, back off some and just start tossing in the hole, Jiggin spoon in a wild shiner pattern has produced many great bass and lots of exciting action.
Lake Toho
Second Half of the week was spent out on Lake Toho doing a lot of flipping in hydrilla mats and grass beds which produced bass to 8 pounds using the Gitem Bug. Areas we centered on were North Steer Beach and Browns Point. Artificial bite was a little slow as to be expected with the front moving thru, so we had wild shiners slow trolled off the back of the boat on bait runners, which produced 12 solid bass to 6 ½ pounds. Even with the fronts rolling thru this time of year, with a little patience, artificial or live bait, Central Florida lakes are the place to be.
Till my next report,
Tight lines and bass wishes
