Inshore action Palm Beach Jupiter full of life

Capt. Craig Korczynski
May 7, 2012
Palm Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Inshore action for snook producing plenty of rod bending action, snook are being found along sea walls, docks and up on the flats. Artificial lures like a heedon spook or jig worked near structure gets the line siders excited. Snook love to ambush baits so look for heavy structure and use points as areas to locate good numbers of fish. Snook are ranging in size from 2 to 15 pounds.

Black drum are showing up along sea walls and sand flats these fish are spooky. Live fiddler crabs and shrimp best baits for the drum. The black drum are bottom feeders and love a smelly bait the key is to lead the drum to the bait. Typical size has ranged from 5 to 25 pounds.

Juvenile tarpon have been active in the back bays and canals due to all the fresh water run off. Top water plugs, jigs and live bait's the best choices to entice the tarpon. Look for rolling fish and cast bait to that vicinity. Tarpon feed batter during low light hours.

Jacks are schooled up and will take any fast moving bait in there vicinity. Live baits free lined provides great explosive strikes, top water lures as well. Jigging deep holes or channels will get you hooked up with bigger jacks, these fish are a blast on light tackle. Average size of the jacks has been 2 to 20 pounds.

Well that is the fishing report for the past week, hope you all enjoyed. Remember you cant catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight Lines! Capt. Craig Korczynski, PhlatsInshoreFishing.com, 561-644-
