Jupiter Loxahatchee River Holiday Cheer

Capt. Craig Korczynski
December 5, 2011
Palm Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Naughty or nice, fish don't check the list twice, weather is the only factor for fish to go by. Windy but tolerable the local waters have a winter feel.

Tarpon fishing has put smiling faces on anglers using live baits and jigs. The silver king has been active early morning and evenings, rolling fish offer clues to were fish are located. Typical size of tarpon has ranged from 5 to 30 pounds.

Snook season is fast coming to a close and anglers are finding snook along grass flats, docks and mangrove shorelines. Live baits free lined with the tide and jigs worked on the bottom gets the linesider excited, December 15 is final day.

Grass flats are full of life as snook, trout, pompano, jacks, bluefish and lady fish get anglers drag screaming. Live baits, jigs tipped with shrimp best choices for anglers. Depths to work range from 2 to 6 feet, pot holes are the key to success, and don't forget manatees, drum love to follow behind as water gets stirred up and bait flee for shelter.

Well that is the fishing report for the past week hope you all enjoyed. Remember you can't catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight lines! Capt. Craig korczynski, phlatsinshorefishing.com, 5616444371
