Palm Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

January has definitely brought winter patterns. Beginning of the week was brisk, anglers still enjoyed drag screaming action.
Rock piles and channels held plenty of Lane, mangrove, mutton, snapper, along with drum, grunts and many other species to put a bend in the rod. Bucktail jigs, chipped with shrimp, hooked blue fish, weak fish, ladyfish, Jax and snook as well.
Mangrove shorelines were the target area for those anglers looking to tango with the linesiders. Snook have been schooled up in troughs and along drop offs, striking rapala X raps and live baits worked in their vicinity. The cooler water temps have made the fish a little slower, so presentation was key.
The cooler temperatures did not detour tarpon from striking. Clear sunny days tarpon enjoy, muddy bottom mangrove shoreline areas. Both sides of the tides anglers were able to target tarpon as they can be seen rolling on the surface. Live bait predominantly work the best but a Rapala x raps also a great choice to get hooked up.
Well, that is the fishing report for the past week, hope you all enjoyed. Remember you can't catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight lines! PhlatsInshoreFishing.com visit us on Facebook , Instagram , Pinterest, x and YouTube
