Palm Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

February started out with a winter blast in South Florida! The cool brisk air brought frigid winds and nighttime temperatures dropped. This caused local water temperatures to drop as well. Luckily for the Palm Beach Jupiter area there was no Fishkill for snook and tarpon.
With that said, the snook and tarpon bite has been nonexistent as water temperatures in Jupiter reached 56° shutting down the bite. This is common with a strong front like this this, fish gravitate to muddy bottom areas and concrete structures seeking heat. As we warm up in the next few days, these fish will start to feed getting back on track.
The action for anglers was along the beaches and inside the intercoastal waterways targeting blue fish, Pompano, mackerel, ladyfish, and many other species that would put a bend in the rod. Migratory fish came in strong with the cold air and cooler water, temps triggering an excellent bite.
Anglers had a blast targeting these species using artificial baits like the Doa shrimp, 3 inch shad tail, Doa terror eyz and cut shrimp on the bottom.
We look forward to the warmer air that will presume in the next few days, like we always say you can't catch them from the couch so get out there and enjoy the bite and bend a rod. Tight lines! PhlatsInshoreFishing.com visit us on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, X and YouTube
