Palm Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Summer has begun, school is out. School of fish has just begun! Kids fishing summer camp started up last week with freshwater, a week long camp, teaching the fundamentals of fishing, techniques, knots, habitat and conservation.

School Fish has been running camps and fishing seminars for the past five years teaching young anglers outdoors, and for those that want to work in industry, how to be successful and build relationships.

Freshwater fishing last week was a blast! The kids caught largemouth bass, Mayan cichlids, peacock, bass, crappie, bluegill, and even a turtle. Using a wide variety of lures. Anglers learned how to jig, use sub surface lures, top water lures, and even getting creative rigging a two jigs to entice multiple strikes.

While out on the water, the kids learned how to read the water, navigate dirty water, and wind direction to locate fish. Teaching them how to use electronics side scan, down imaging is also another tool. The kids can hone in their skills while utilizing a boat to wrangle fish in.

Thank you to our sponsors that made our freshwater camp successful we could not do this without you. We are now back to saltwater targeting snook, tarpon, jacks, sharks and many other species with the youth anglers. If you're interested in getting your child into the outdoors and learning fishing with the pros please visit our website sofcharters.com.
