Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

My 22' boat is still in the shop being reworked and will be ready in a couple of weeks. I'm running my 17' GIII, it ain't pretty but it catches fish.
We have been fishing Crooked Island Sound lately, catching a lot of reds and trout.

I caught my first african pompano this morning on a DOA with a DOA popping cork. King of cool. I've been told they are great to eat but this one was small and was released.

Speaking of pompano...we were hugging a bank on a rough and windy morning last week when something splashed, then hit me in the leg. I looked down that an 18" (at the fork) pompano was flopping around in the bottom of the boat. The second picture is what happens to pompano that jump in my boat.

Along with many other species, including mangrove snaps, five pound blues and sharks there are a lot of giant spanish macks at Crooked Island.

Even though my 22' boat is down I'm running two person trips in my small boat. I should be up and back on the water, able to take four people, by the middle of the month.
DUCK SEASON
We didn't shoot as many teal this year as in years past. They have been late on the migration this year, still moving through. We managed to get our limits of woodies each of the days we went out during the early season.
I was the first duck guide in the area and my knowledge of bird movement and where to find them is unmatched. I have many days available for hunts during the regular season which starts the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving.
Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Flounder, specs, reds, big spanish and pompano with all be on the move with the change of the season. I will customize your trip and put you on whatever you are looking to catch.
