Alligator hunts in Panama City Florida along with great fishing.

Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

The word yesterday...BP is picking up all the booms around the bay. Guess they don't think any oil is coming our way. Lot's of east winds and god smiling on us has kept it to the west. I feel for those folks over there but we were hit pretty hard also. Couple of days ago one of my clients' phone rang. The person on the other end was suprised he was fishing in Panama City, wondering how he could fish in all the oil. There is no oil and never has been. The oil rumors were made up by people wanting to sell commercials for the news or copies of thier newspapers. Even our county office, when I confronted them yesterday, smiled while telling me there has been oil in our bay. When I asked the assistant county manager when she had been in the bay her response was "I haven't been on a boat since this all started". Then how do you know?....are you trying to sensationalize something that isn't true? I told her, to smirks and unhappy looks, "I'm out thier almost every day (should be every day in July but I have taken a hit also), I haven't seen a tar ball or sheen anywhere". "The sheen you see could be nothing more than one of the hundreds of boats running around looking for oil pumping thier bilge into our bay". Of course there was no response.
Folks, come on down. Fish. The fishing is great. Hire a competent guide, not someone moved down from Georgia a couple of years ago that can't find fish. Get someone who knows what they are doing.
Fishing has been great. When I have been able to run we have been catching a lot of reds and some giant spanish. Take a look:

I have some alligator tags this year if you are interested in an alligator hunt. Call me for details.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Fishig will remain perfect. There is so much bait this year I feel that the fall run and bite could be the best in years.
Trout, reds, spanish, blues and sharks are all over the bay and that will not change for months.
Flounder will start moving soon.

Target Species:

Everything is biting.

More Fishing Reports:

Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida. Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
