Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report
Headed into the back bays this morning. Hit several redfish spots, no pun intended, catching a bunch of small fish. Don't know where the big ones went over the last few days while I was on vacation and then laid up nursing the knee I twisted fly fishing for trout in N. Georgia.
It was a beautiful day with cool temps and a moving tide which made the bite so suprising. Small reds and small trout...hmmmmmmmm......have to keep after it.
Went out to the ledges for the second half of the trip with some big beautiful ly's. We had over two hours of fish just about non stop. Spanish, blues and sharks. Had some nice fish in the boat and lost a lot of nice fish. Good job to Lori and Christy (hope I spelled it right), keep your rod tips up!
Panama City Fishing Forecast:
Reds tend to get into bigger schools this time of the year. The trout bite should pick up with some large fish normally being caught this time of the year.
Spanish, blues and sharks will be in the bay through the rest of the summer.
The flounder run will be a trickle starting in September with full run by mid to end of October.
The big bruiser reds will be in the pass, getting easier to catch as the water cools.
Fishing is good in the fall. Better than the summer by far. Come on down and let's go fishing.
Target Species:
Anything that swims
