Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report
After taking the 4th and 5th off, being rained out on the 6th it was good to be on the water this moring.
Headed out this morning with ominous cloud cover over Panama City. The water in West Bay was high on the banks due to the moon, tide and all the rain of the last few days. We didn't see much redfish activity so we concentrated on trout. Steve and Steven, from Virginia, put a lot of trout in the boat on topwater and DOA/popping corks. The bite was hot and we caught a lot of fish including a few keepers.
We caught a net full of bait later on having a good time on one of the ledges with spanish, blues, ladies and blue runners. We had fish boiling around the boat and it was a good time with both getting the infamous trash can slam.
It was a great day with a lot of fish including a big bull shark around the boat for a while in West Bay.
Panama City Fishing Forecast:
Trout and redfish bite is good.
Spanish, blues and ladies on the ledges.
Kings offshore.
Target Species:
All the players are here. All species are available.
Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida.
Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
