Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Early teal started Saturday morning. There were a lot of birds. I forgot to take photos with some very happy hunters opening day. Long time duck hunting partner, Greg Taylor, hooked up with me Sunday and today for the 2010/2011 Duck Reunion Tour" we will be hunting a lot this year. Greg is great to hunt with and we share a love for duck hunting that only duck hunters understand.
We limited on woodies each day. We saw a lot of teal on Sunday but as teal go; one second they are there and the next they are gone. It's been a good early season filled with a lot of birds.

I'm lucky enough to have the priveledge to hunt some private land in Blountstown. So when my Mathews delaminated last year I knew it was finally time to do something. Either buy a new bow (BP took care of that not happening) or repair mine. I took it to the local Mathews dealer who informed me that the limbs had a lifetime garauntee but he would charge me $50 to put them on. First red flag. I had intended to also have him re-fit the bow for graphite arrows, new heads, rest, site and string. I asked him if he could include moving my peep site to which he replied, "I don't know you, why would I do anything for you? I'm not giving you anything for free, I don't know who you are"! I picked up my bow and said, "your right, you don't know who I am but my money is as green as anyone elses and I choose to spend it elsewhere".
I called Mathews and they gave me the number to Big Bend. Been hunting up there for several years had no idea they were there. Glad I found them.
Not only did the guys at Big Bend Outfitters treat me with respect, as they did with all the customers that came in that day, they put my limbs on for free. That was great and I quickly proceeded to purchase a new sight, string, kisser, peep, dozen arrows, whisker biscuit, and a half dozen mechanicals. Hmmmmmmmm, guess that money could have been spent here in Panama, too bad. I know a lot of my clients are shaking thier heads about now....you know...treat your customer right...take care of them. Take the drive to Big Bend on Hwy 71 North in Blountstown. They will take care of you and make sure your bow is right before you leave. The prices are good but more than anything you don't have to deal with a smartass.
One last thing, my new duck boat is the bomb. Lot's of room to carry people and decoys. Going to hunt hard and new spots this year. Greg and I from Sunday:
