Bite is good for all species in Panama City Florida

Capt. James Pic

Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Been on the water a lot. I had been anticipating the arrival of the May full moon for some big trout. The moons arrival was somewhat anticlimactic with the lack of really big fish. Don't get me wrong, we caught plenty of 24 and 25 inch fish but none of the really big fish I'm used to catching. There were two big fish lost at the boat, one was well over 7 pounds, that's just how it goes some time.
There are plenty of reds to catch on topwater, that bite has been good.
Along the drops there have been a lot of big, and small, spanish along with some big blues. We have already caught some kings in the bay.
There are some flounder here and there.
Time for fly fishing, early morning topwater and live bait.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Fishing should remain steady for the remainder of the year.
Could have another round of big trout just prior to the full moon of June.

Target Species:

Everything is biting.

More Fishing Reports:

Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida. Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
