Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Ben Ward from Blood Knot Magazine brought his wife, Amber, to fish with me today. Ben, an editor for Blood Knot Magazine and a long time customer wanted a little fly action.
As we headed to West Bay Ben said to me, "whatever happens today, I really want Amber to get a slot red".
We tried fishing a bank with redfish magic and a Dupree's Spoon Fly but had some issues with other boats jumping in front of our drift, cutting us off. We left that spot and hit a secret redfish spot where Amber quickly put two decent reds in the boat.
We left that spot after the reds and a few trout and proceeded to a spot that has been holding a lot of spanish, blues, ladies, blue runners and an occasional shark. Ben caught a bunch of spanish, blues and ladies on the fly with Amber catching a some of the same.

Even though Amber is new to the sport she did a great job putting spanish and bluefish in the boat. Amber it the first fisherperson to complete the "quadfecta" this year; spanish, blue, trout and red. Good job Amber and don't worry about the broken rod, I'll send you a bill..lol.
Ben, thank you for the invitation to write for Blood Knot Magazine, you can count on some fun articles in the future.
