Take a brother fishing....or give a fly fishing lesson.

Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Sometimes it's just easier to put up the pictures, worth a thousand words and all that mumbo jumbo. Nobody ever got tired of catching giant trout and reds...or looking at them.
Took my brother Jeff and nephew Jared fishing this morning. We considered going after some sharks but I decided that the trout bite was to good to pass up. After all, the sharks will be there the rest of the year. Once again we left early to get some bait. One throw and we had enough menhaden for the trip with a lot left over. My goal was to put my brother on the biggest trout he had ever caught and Jared on his first red and big trout. My spots were, well, ON FIRE! Jared got a red early and a big trout later, 24 inch red with a 25 inch trout.

Jeff took a smaller red but mangaged a hefty 26 inch trout, releasing another that almost as big.

As Jared said, "We didn't catch a lot of fish, Uncle James, but we caught all big fish"....we said my boy...who's the man? Gonna be a big trout year, been sayin' it all along and I'm the guide that can put you on them.

I took a local, Moe, out for some fly fishing lessons yesterday. He's heading to Colorodo in a few weeks and wanted some pointers. He picked things up very quickly and even caught a few fish while learning. Here's an action shot and first saltwater fish on the fly. We'll have you getting reds in the future Moe.

If you want to learn to fly fish I can teach you. I have practical firsthand experience in all types of fly fishing. From tarpon to rainbows, snook to redfish, I can do it. I have a back country slam on the fly and doubt there are any other guides around here that can say that. I can teach everything from strip set to tip set, mending your line, roll casts, making you a better fly fisherman and able to catch fish on your next destination.
Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Like I said two days ago; as long as the trout bite is on I'm going to continue to pound them along with the redfish.
There are plenty of spanish, blues and ladyfish in the bay and the sharks are moving in.
Target Species:

Trout and reds
