Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

OK...so I've been off the radar for a while. Did you expect me to be gone forever? Like a bad dream, for fish, I'm back and better than ever for 2011. The best guide in the area just got better with a new Carolina 24DLX.
The new boat is in the yard and the rigging will start today. I plan on running next week a couple of times, hopefully the weather will cooperate. The new boat is big and roomy, not going to have to worry about bumping in to each other while fishing. It's still shallow enough for reds and trout but sturdy and big enough for offshore.
I have decided to fish the inshore reefs some this year for snapper, grouper and other species. I haven't decide on the price for that trip...it will start with a five hour.
You can expect more posts starting now. I played hard this winter, spending a some time in the keys along with some other things. Let's get together, have some fun and catch fish.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

I'll be fishing the bayous, creeks and hot water discharge canal the next few weeks. Pompano should start showing up some time in the next month or so.
Spanish and cobia are more or less water temperature sensativel; quicker we warm up sooner they will both arive.
March should be a good month for reds and sheepshead in the pass.
There are whiting, silver trout and black sea bass to be caught in the bay now.
Target Species:

Winter fishing still going on.
