When the cobia bite is slow you never pass up a school of jacks.

Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing last week was strong some days and weak others. The spanish are still on the move with some nice schools of bluefish moving in with.
We did some more redfish damage this week along with several flounder in a spot known for early spring flatties.
The cobia run has been more like a crawl so when I spotted a big school of jacks moving down the beach Saturday morning we decided to have some fun with them. You can see some videos of what it's like when a school of 25lb jacks go after a Zara Super Spook on my face book page.
Payton landed seven from 15lbs up to a little more than 30lbs. Leah went along and she got one that was about 20lbs. Could have caught them on the fly easily. We landed 8 lost 3.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Everything is moving along well. Then next big event will be monster trout. If you want a once in a lifetime trout, I'm the guide that can put you on one. Every spring we catch 20 or more over six pounds with several over eight.

Target Species:

Spring bite is definitely on!

More Fishing Reports:

Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida. Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
