Family Fishing in Panama City Beach, FL

Capt. Todd Jones
June 12, 2014
Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

The weather has prevented us from getting out in the Gulf the last few days, but not from catching fish non stop. To tell you the truth it has been a welcome change from 6 hour Snapper trips. I was starting to get a bit run down after 2 of those a day for the last couple of weeks. Like I said we have been catching fish non stop. First order of business is to catch bait, which has been taking about 10 minutes. It takes longer to put them all in the live well than to catch them. Throw twice fill up both wells. As far as the fish, we have been catching them faster than the anchor can set. Throw a hand full of baits out and the next thing you know fish are everywhere. We are catching Redfish, Black Snapper, Ladyfish, Spanish mackerel, Bluefish, and Grouper. We caught and released 18 Grouper in 4 ft of water on Tuesday.

Right now it does not matter if we fish inshore or offshore …morning or afternoon the fishing (or should I say the catching) is fantastic. So get out there and catch some fish.

Be safe on the water,
Capt. Todd Jones

Target Species:

FISH

More Fishing Reports:

Capt. Todd has been fishing the Gulf Coast for over 40 years and guiding for 30 years. He is a second generation fishing guide. While serving his country for 22 years as a Navy Diver he was able to fish all over the world. In his travels he has fished the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, as well as the Mediterranean and the Sea of Cortez. But in his opinion nothing compares to the diversity we have here in the Emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
