Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Finally the wind has stopped, and the fishing is awesome!!! All I can say is offshore is where it's at right now!!! The king mackerel have kept our poles bent and our drags screaming for the past few weeks. The kings have been thick around all the buoys and some near shore wrecks. We have been flatline live cigars minnows and sardines out the back of the boat and drifting past the buoy then slow trolling or bump trolling it back around the structure.

The strike can be AWESOME!!! Sometimes these fish will jump up to 10ft out of the water destroying your bait and making blistering runs peeling drag off your reel at such speed that smoke actually starts coming from the line, it is unbelievable at times you won't believe it until you see it. We were even lucky enough to get a nice blackfin tuna and a nice Mahi-Mahi the other day it was a great bonus.

Also the amberjacks have been a blast this year.
There's only one problem - SHARKS - and lots of them. Although we have managed to get some really nice fish to the boat, the majority of them have been fed to sharks. Sometimes right at the boat it really gets your heart pumping but doesn't fill the box.

Snapper season will open this year on June 11th and remains open until July 21st we have caught a few big snapper the past days, and I for one am ready to keep a few of these beautiful eating fish.

So if you get to Panama City Beach look me up and let me show you the beautiful waters around Panama City Beach. Thanks for reading my report and hope to see you soon!!!
