Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hit the water at early thirty this morning hoping my prediction of the spanish arrival was close. Had Kevin from Tyndall and his buddy, Mark, in from Montgomery for a morning of fly fishing and bubble rigs. Fly was first choice and even though the start was slow due to the wind and fog by 0800 we had spanish busting all around the boat.
Both caught many fish rotating fly and bubble rig with us catching well over three limits (45) before calling it a day.
At one point during the mid morning we found a big school of fish that was swarming minnows around the boat. Every cast on the fly would produce violent hits and fish.
Here are a few of the highlights:

Everyone here knows me, those that read the reports. Thanks for reading, thanks for all the bookings. I hope everyone comes out of the economic downturn in a good way. I'm still the best deal for the money in the panhandle.
Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Look for the spanish to peak in a few weeks with the arrival of the ladyfish, bluefish and blue runners. At about the same time the reds will be easy to get on the flats with the trout spawn not far behind.
For those wanting some good pulls with the sheeps, they are in the pass for another couple of weeks.
The cobia bite is picking up with hopes of good weather and a few in my boat over the next couple of weeks.
With the exception of a few days here and there due to weather and barometer there is no reason why anyone should not be able to put fish in the boat through next December. That's a pretty strong statement and with the arrival of the spanish the season has started and there are always fish to catch. Make sure you hire the guy that knows where they are.
Target Species:

Spring has sprung, it's time to get down to business...fish business!
