Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Spent some time at the hot water canal this weekend, throwing Gulps!, DOA Shrimp and flies for trout and whatever else would bite. Saturday there were a lot of peeps in the canal, everyone catching fish. Not much size to most of them although we did manage a few nice fish. There were a lot to catch and pull if your looking for some fun.
The deep holes didn't cooperate for whiting and white trout although that can be hit and miss this late in the winter.
I want to thank the three chopper pilots from Rucker I had on Saturday for thier service. It's heroes like you that put the "free" into freedom, thank you.
New boat is great, roomy, fast and steady on the water. Everyone will like it.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Look for the bite to steadily get better over the next few weeks. Trout will be open March 1 for catch and keep. We nail them every year on that day and I'm available.
The sheepies should start biting in the pass soon with the big bite mid March to the first of April. After that the spanish and cobia show up, so it isn't that far off. Should be a great year.
Target Species:

Winter fishing still going on.
