Flats Fishing

Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Had Sean Collins from Metairie La. on the boat today. He fishes out of Pt. Alahache La. The Saburban Gun and Boat Club. The oldest private fish/hunting camp in La. Dates back to the 20's. He was very impressed with the numbers and quality of our trout. I had to remind to him that his back yard is far bigger and better than ours for trout, reds, and ducks. I think he was just captivated with the natural beauty of the NW Panhandle, as I was the first time I was over there. I told him that our water was still a little stained from the rain and that it gets much more clear. He commented "I can see the bottum!" He only wanted to keep a few for dinner, so that's what we did. We released few more trout and reds before piddling around the flats a little more. I mentioned the beach action... He was all about it! Just some thing new for him. We smacked the lady fish, and big jacks on topwater plugs, broke off two spinner sharks with live bait( I love to sight fish), and jigged two little flounder. He actually sent me home with the flounder. "Don't mind if I do, I said!" Fun trips and fun people make my job the best. Also helps when the fish do what they are supposed to do. I have never claimed to be the best cobia, trout, tarpon, bottum , or bluewater fisherman around. I'm just very well rounded at eveything. I try to learn something new everytime I fish. Call me up and lets go have some fun!
