Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

There are a lot of guys and gals out there that want to learn how to fly cast, distance as well as gracefully. To those of us that have done it for many years it seems simple, but to those that have not, fly fishing can be a pain in the butt. With a little patience and help I have led many into the fly fishing brotherhood over the years.
Some, like Doug, just want to improve so he can feel good about going to places like Ascension Bay Mexico or Belize. Doug, I can tell you, you can hang with the bones in Mexico along with the tarpon and snook in Belize. Hope to see some pictures one day.

The day broke gloomy but with fish breaking out on the Middle Grounds, but the wind came up the fish went down. We managed to catch and miss a few here and there. I tried my hardest to get Doug a red on the fly but with the wind and the cloud cover that was a tough task that proved to much to ask. We managed a ton of trout on the flats in West Bay, mostly just undersize with some keepers mixed in. Trout fishing looks like it will be great this year. The reds are around but with a really high tide, dark clouds and wind it's hard to find them. Tomorrow will be better.
Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Fishing is good and will remain that way through the next six months.
Target Species:

Trout and reds on the flats, spanish on the ledges.
