Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report
We had another epic day out in the Gulf today. You could not have asked for better conditions. We started out with the usual stop at the bait barge for live cigar minnows then off to catch menhaden for chum. There is nothing like bringing the Snapper to the surface in 70 or 80 ft. of water and hand feeding them. If you have never tried this you are missing out on some great fishing. Our first stop was to catch and release a few Amberjack to get everyone warmed up and awake. After a couple of these apiece it was off to the Snapper spot.
I got anchored up and started tossing out menhaden and no sooner than they hit the water we had Amberjacks, Red Snapper, Black Snapper, and Almaco Jacks surrounding the boat. Well needless to say it was game on and we caught Jacks and Snapper for the next couple hours.
If you would like to try this type of fishing give me a call.
This also works for Grouper, so in July when the season opens we can also add a few Grouper to the days catch.
Be safe on the water.
