Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

One thing is true....this winter has been cold with February being one of the coldest I can remember. I took my third deer a couple of weeks ago, a nice 7 point, and have since shifted more to the fishing end of the outdoors.
When the weather cooperates we have been running to Warren Bayou a lot. The fishing up there has been good all year and getting better. I took Lou from Philly up there today. Even though it was Valentines Day his wife gave him a kitchen pass since it was the nicest day so far since he has been in town.
Lou had never fly fished in salt water prior to today and I told him the same as I tell a lot of folks; "if you can cast you will catch fish". Lou could cast, Lou caught fish. Although most were in the 10 to 14 inch range he managed a lot of trout on a clouser minnow along with some hefty winter time lady fish. Didn't see any jacks but they should be showing up any day.
We plan on making it back up there this week if the weather cooperates.
I'm available on March 1st which is the first day trout and the hot water canal are open for keeping fish. Call me, we can book the day.
Watch my facebook page. As summer rolls in I will post things there you will not see here. Send me a friend request and I will add you.
