Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

I decided to do something new this year. There have been a few people that follow my reports and email me every now and then to tell me "thanks" for the effort. Some even go as far as to refer business to me even though they have never fished with me. One such person is Jason Bryant or "JB" as he is known.
I chose him to fish with me to thank him for his support of my reports and to me. Today was his day.
The wind was blowing pretty hard out of the East which limited us as to where we could fish. JB fishes for spanish a lot off the jetties while in town so I decided on some trout fishing. After picking up some ly's we headed to trout and redfish spot 74-A. The redfish bite was non existent today. We caught a nice trout right off but managed nothing more than a bunch of grouper sandwich size groupers. We moved to another trout spot, 1-A, but no trout to be found although one really good fish was lost. Knowing what I know about that spot, how it hit and fought I think JB lost a good'n, six or more.
We moved back to the first spot and got into a school of nice fish putting five more in the box. I lost a really good one on the way to the boat. I saw him roll, spit the hook and give me the finger as he swam off.
JB, your the man. I enjoyed fishing with you and you definitely have some skills.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Even though we didn't get any reds today the bite has been hot along with the trout and should remain so.
Spanish and blues are thick in the bay.
Flounder should start moving soon.
The pass will heat up with the big reds, blues and schools of bonito coming through.
Fly fishing over the next two months should be hot.
