Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Sorry about the lack of post's lately. Been chasing deer, with no luck, that story a little later. In between deer I've been taking a few trips here and there fishing for trout, reds and flounder.
Took my nephew, Jared, last week...he nailed his first slam.

Check my forecast for some good details.
First phase of duck season starts this coming Saturday. We had a pretty good season last year. With my new boat I will be able to range further.

As for the deer. C'mon Man.....been hunting this private land for three years. I saw at least two or more deer every day of bow season last year. So far this year only two deer in the last three weeks. Tried and tried to figure out why but when I started looking around I found a pile of corn in an out of the way place on a major trail. I looked everywhere for the stand finally located a climber hidden under a pine. Damn poacher. We ran him off. Hopefully things will get back to normal.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

The big reds are in the pass. They range anywhere from five to fifty pounds. Never know how big he is till you hook him.
The flounder run is winding down. We have been catching some nice flounder, just getting fewer and fewer.
The trout and reds are moving toward the bayous and creeks. Some are still on the flats and in some areas will remain throughout the winter. We sight fished some reds and trout today.
There are some spanish and blues lingering in the bay. Spanish will move out when the water temp drops a little more.
Steam plant canal, Warren Bayou, is open for business but catch and release only until the end of February.

Target Species:

Trout, reds and flounder for another week or two.

More Fishing Reports:

Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida. Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
