4lb. Ray & spanish, the silver king shows, gator hunt Panam City

Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

I have one word for the the weather lately, BRUTAL! Saturday we had a heat index of 116, it was hot at 0600.
We put some good sharks in the boat last week, first hammerhead ever and some black tips. I've been taking video and putting it on my facebook page. If you want to see, friend me; James Pic.
The fishing has been tough for some but we have managed to find some fish ready to eat. Been putting a lot of spanish in the boat. I stopped fishing for reds in the upper bays due to the water temp. When it cools we will be back on it.
The best thing about fishing with 4lb. Ray is I get to fish. I look forward to our trips for that reason. The "magic" doesn't happen all the time, last year it was a 30lb. king in the bay, today it was "the silver king". While chumming the water for Ray to catch spanish after spanish I floated some live baits into the moving tide. We have been seeing some monstrous boils in the chum line while fishing this one particular spot. The biggest thing we have hooked are some blacktips, other sharks and some big reds...until today.
Ray was on spanish number 23 or 24, I had put some in the box also when something huge rolled up on my bait. Not getting a good look at it we both assumed it was a 100lb. shark, that was, until he jumped full body out of the air about 100 feet away. Easily 100lb. poon. I got a couple of cranks on him before he broke my #8 Suffix. It was awesome, very cool. Any of you run into Ray on the point next spring ask him about it.
We put over 60 spanish in the boat along with a couple of blues. We lost another 20 or more at the boat and had a lot of cut offs. Fishing could be picking up. I think that big storm yesterday helped, cooling down the water a little.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Unless the wind is blowing really hard, I'm not having any trouble getting my clients on fish. Spanish, blues and sharks mostly right now.
I'm not fishing for trout and reds until the water cools. You kill more fish in this heat so I stay away from them.

Target Species:

Everything is biting.

More Fishing Reports:

Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida. Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
