Light Tackle Offshore Action in Panama City, Florida

Capt. Todd Jones
April 24, 2015
Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

This has been the best week of the season so far. Finally all the various baitfish has come in. Pilchards, Menhaden, and Threadfin are in the bay, Cigar minnows, Sardines, and Hardtails off the beach. With all this bait lots of big fish have moved in. We caught Spanish, King Mackerel, Amberjack, Cobia, Red Snapper, Vermillion Snapper, Black Snapper, White Snapper, Almaco Jack, Grouper, and Bonito this week. On one trip we caught all the above in one 5 hour charter. Needless to say the fishing is on fire.

Speaking of Snapper, we have a 70 day season this year. Starting May 23 thru July 12...then it opens again the Friday of Labor Day and runs thru that Monday. Then it opens again every Saturday and Sunday until the 1st of November.
As I stated earlier the fishing is outstanding. So get down here and let's go catch some fish.

More Fishing Reports:

Capt. Todd has been fishing the Gulf Coast for over 40 years and guiding for 30 years. He is a second generation fishing guide. While serving his country for 22 years as a Navy Diver he was able to fish all over the world. In his travels he has fished the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, as well as the Mediterranean and the Sea of Cortez. But in his opinion nothing compares to the diversity we have here in the Emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
