Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

What another great week we had here in Panama City, FL. The weather was perfect for the better part of the week. Unfortunately that is not the case for this weekend. There is always something to do on a boat, so it will give me a chance to catch up. I already said how good the weather was …so more on the fishing. It was about as good as you could ever want. Lots of live bait just offshore and easy to catch, in about 20 minutes you can have all you need. Cigar minnows, pilchards, sardines, and tinker mackerel are all here.
We have been fishing on the near shore reefs and wrecks with these live baits and catching Lots of Amberjack, Cobia, Kings, Barracuda, and Red Snapper. Once you get the Amberjack and Kings up on the surface the big Snapper follow. We have been catching some huge Snapper on the surface with live bait. After we finish up with the drag burners we usually concentrate on catching a nice mess of Vermillion and White Snapper to take home for the grill.

Once this little front goes thru the fishing will be on fire again.
Be safe and courteous on the water,
Capt. Todd Jones
