Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hit the bay this morning with Michael, Joan, Andrew and Holly. The day broke with a beautiful sunrise giving way to some exciting moments. We were anchored up next to another guide with the ST. Andrews Guides Association and were all treated as we watched one of his customers land a 30lb black tip. Not to be outdone, Micheal, landed a 25lb sand a little later.

In between, Andrew home from Auburn for a few days, broke off one of the biggest sharks hooked in years. We all watched as the fish trashed his live mullet on top and took off. Can't really say how big it was although it there was four feet between dorsal and tail.
It's a boy~!

Family portrait:

We caught some spanish, blues and even managed a nice flounder. Not bad considering the conditions. Good job to everyone!
I was in West Bay yesterday with a really high tide. Areas that normally are dry were covered with a foot of water. This was a result of the storm surge produced by the low in the gulf the last few days. We manged some small reds and trout but the bite was not what it has been. When the water is that high these fish can go places you and I cannot.
Panama City Fishing Forecast:

As the surge from the low of the last few days adjust's back to normal fishing should do the same.
There are a lot of sharks this year along with the big trout, reds and spanish. All of those species are easy to find and catch.
Just off shore the king fishing is picking up.
Target Species:

Trout, reds, spanish, sharks and kings.
