Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

We ventured out into the Gulf yesterday for another great day of fishing. The seas were not as smooth as they have been the last few trips. I can't say enough about how well my Sea Hunt rides and performs when it gets sloppy out in the Gulf. Well enough about my awesome boat …back to the fishing report. We got to the first spot and with the seas being a bit rougher and the current ripping it took a few passes to get hooked up. Once I figured out what side of the structure the fish were on it was game on…doubles and triples on almost every drop of the jigs. We caught limits of Banded Rudderfish and lots of just short Amberjacks. Next we hit some hard bottom and caught Triggerfish, White Snapper, Red Snapper, and Grouper.

The fishing is good and getting better every day as the water warns up. The jig fishing will start to slow down in a few weeks, so if deep jigging for Amberjack and other big fish interest you give me a call.
Good Luck on the water and in the woods,
Capt. Todd Jones
