Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well.......There were a lot of ducks today. We were set up, once again, in a perfect position. We did well, had eight birds, with only two of us. We saw many species; ringers, bluebills, teal, puddle ducks and woodies. There was only one problem with the day: we were surrounded by people that skipped duck hunting 101.

In all the years I have hunted I have never witnessed a more blatant disregaurd for proper hunting etiquette as today. From rallying the birds, to a guy half a mile away pounding away at birds with his five shot to high to hit, to people scouting at 0700 on opening day.
We watched one group shoot at birds 200 yards away. We heard them talking at the end of the hunt claiming only one duck that they couldn't find after shooting a couple of boxes of shells. Thank god most of those people will be gone after today and the few serious duck hunters can get down to business.
Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Looks like duck season will be a good one this year.
Fishing should continue to be good as the water begins to cool.
Target Species:

Fishing is good. The colder temps should trigger some agressive behaviour in many species. Should be great thru November.
