Panama City Beach ,FL Inshore and Offshore Fishing Report

Capt. Todd Jones
May 8, 2013
Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

The last week has been great. The bait has found its way back into the bay and so have the fish. We are catching just about all the regular summer species now. The Trout have made their move back onto the flats along with the Red fish. The Bluefish and Spanish mackerel are all over the bay. All of these can be caught on live bait or artificial. The live bait of choice is Pilchards if you can catch them…a good second choice is live shrimp. The Pompano are still making a good showing on the beach.

Speaking of the beach we are still catching a few Cobia and lots of Jacks. The Cobia should still be here till the end of the month. We are also starting to see Kings on the beach and on near shore structures.

More Fishing Reports:

Capt. Todd has been fishing the Gulf Coast for over 40 years and guiding for 30 years. He is a second generation fishing guide. While serving his country for 22 years as a Navy Diver he was able to fish all over the world. In his travels he has fished the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, as well as the Mediterranean and the Sea of Cortez. But in his opinion nothing compares to the diversity we have here in the Emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
